Regulation of Gene Expression During Development

Identifying the factors that control gene expression is central to understanding differentiated cellular functions, including fertility, hormone secretion, cell-cell communication, cell polarity and immune cell function. Scientists in this program are examining the single chromatin fibers, the signals arising from DNA damage, the regulation of transcription in cell cycling and hormone secretion and how these events are disrupted in various disease states, including cancer.
